Help For Librarians, Teachers, Education Directors
“Sifria Library Society” – As an experienced Children’s Public Librarian, I can help develop and maintain the collection in your synagogue or school library. Three or four times a year, I’ll post the “Sifria Library Society Order Sheet” with new and seasonal books that I recommend for every library. Let your synagogue or school know that I want to help them keep their collections current and in good repair. Please alert them to this website and/or give them a copy of the attached order sheet – just click on the link to download an order form. I can also help with any aspect of library development. This could include setting up an easy-to-use catalogue system, suggesting book purchases to enrich the collection, sprucing up book displays, working with volunteers or paid personnel to establish guidelines for running the library and ordering materials, etc. All fees would be arranged individually based on the type and amount of assistance provided.

“Help Me – I’m Stuck for a New Idea” – Just give me a theme or a target audience, or just throw your hands in the air and tell me you have no ideas and I’ll plan a Family Education Day for you! In my years as Education Director at Or Shalom and Sukkat Shalom and as a consultant to several other synagogues, I have planned and carried out over fifty unique and successful Family Education programs and retreats. I would love to help you plan any type of Family Education program. I can do everything from beginning to end of your program – plan, purchase supplies, publicize, organize teachers, volunteers, run the day – or I can just plan it and write everything for you so that you can run it yourself.
Are you thinking of starting a Family School? I established and ran a successful Family School at Congregation Or Shalom, and directed the Family School at Congregation Sukkat Shalom, where a nationally recognized level of excellence was achieved by establishing curricular guidelines, enhancing staff development and creating innovative programming models. I would be happy to work with you to share my expertise and experience.
